We
are back in California.
Well,
we are becoming tour whores. The second tour in less than a month.
Either we are very dedicated to what we are doing or we just love the
seedy vibe that only a rest area can provide. Either way, we win.

We
headed out from Phoenix on
Wednesday at about 7 pm in hopes of taking the west coast by storm.
This time it appeared as though the travel
gods and ADOT smiled upon us. We had no hiccups like last time. Will
didn't run out of gas, the trailer did not have a flat tire and Nick
did not bring with him 3 uncooked eggs in his pocket.
We
arrived at Nick's parent's house at about 2am and immediately headed
for our bed. That's right, bed. A
twin size that now knows each of us personally.

This
morning, we woke up and headed to Cal State Northridge for our 11am
show in the Plaza. We had a great time playing and let the good people
at the college that we were there to rock. They amused us by giving us
a great response.

After
the show we headed straight out to San Diego for
our big show at Brick By Brick. On the way we played trivial pursuit
and talked about our feelings. It appears as though Chris is still
consumed by the cancellation of the tv show Freaks and Geeks. He said
that his heart still hurts and he is not sure weather he can ever
believe in a Supreme Being again. He agreed to get help. By help we
mean that he agreed to eat less red meat. Somehow that will help him
get through it.

San Diego came up quickly and we
made our way to Pacific Beach and
wasted what seemed like an eternity trying to capture the greatest
sunset picture the world has ever seen. We failed miserably but decided
that our picture of Tom eating some washed up sea plant would suffice.

After
giving PB hell, we went to the club. When we got there the place was
pitch black and completely void of human life. Chris felt right at home. We set up and played what
could be considered the greatest show the world as ever seen. However,
depending on who you talk to, it could have been considered the musical
equivalent of deep sea home building. Everyone has their own opinion I
guess.

Tomorrow
after we sleep in until 3pm, we will get ready for the show that we are
really looking forward to: The Derby in Hollywood. We
will let you know how it goes.
Yours
in the time of Cholera,
Nick,
Chris, Will, Tom and this guy with a cat on his shoulder.

Santa Barbara Nov 4th 2006
..
This was a night that started out as a winner and ended as a ..stain on the good name of TYS.
..
..We headed out to Santa Barbara at about 1:30 with our heads held high. It was a glorious day and the cool California wind blew on us like a kiss from God, or something like that.
..
..
On the
way there, we stopped in Carpenteria to scout a location for Nick's
upcoming wedding. It was a beautiful little ranch the overlooked the
ocean.
..

..
..
..
..
..
..
However,
Nick's fiancé Stacy was not there so he decided to renew his
vows with Chris. It was a tender moment shared by the two and their
dearest friends.
..

..
..
..
After sharing the sweet celebration of love, the band set out again towards Santa Barbara.
We arrived there a few hours early and checked out the venue. It was
the patio at a nice little sushi bar called Caliroll's. Instead of
eating there beforehand, we decided to press our luck at the crappiest
of pizza restaurants in the UCSB campus area. Our digestive tracks are
still angry at the choice.
..
After
ingesting 82 lbs of undercooked pizza dough and sausage, we headed to
the venue. We set up and began to rock. People walked in and out but
there were a few people who stuck it out and enjoyed the show. There
was one guy in particular who we simply named "The Pirate". He seemed
to enjoy us a little too much.
..
..

..
..
The
highlight of the night is when "The Pirate" came up on stage between
songs and said these magic words into the mic: "Who farted?".. It was a lovely moment.
..
..

..

..
..
..

..
..
After the
show, we were invited to a frat party to see a Guns and Roses cover
band called Hollywood Guns. It turned out to be a great party and we
met tons of nice people.

..

..
..
..
..
However, not all were nice. In particular, the Santa Barbara police dept. I will explain.
Right
after the party, we went to our truck and trailer to leave. There was a
Budweiser that someone had left of the wheel well. Tom picked it up.
Not good. Suddenly, 4 cops wrestled Tom to the ground. He had no idea
what was going on. Chris ran up to the cops to see what was going on
and was immediately met with a forearm to the throat. Apparently, you
cannot even touch an open container of beer in Santa Barbara
even to just move it from your trailer. Nor can you question why a band
member is being manhandled like a rag doll to the ground. After much
deliberation, Tom and Chris were threatened with being taken to jail
for being belligerent. Tom was cited a ticket for having the open
bottle even though it was not his FU**ING BEER!
..
..
..
All is
well now and everyone is calm, including all the innocent underage
students who were drunk walking the streets while Tom was being
violated by SB's finest. ..
..
So, at this time, we would like to send the Santa Barbara Police Dept a nice little message.
